Early diagnosis and treatment of suburethral cleft is advisable

Hypospadias is a common congenital abnormality in boys. The main manifestation is the abnormal position of the opening of the urethra, the pronounced downward curvature of the penis, urination downward and backward, and easy wetting of clothes and pants. It is often combined with inguinal hernia, cryptorchidism and other diseases, and most parents can diagnose it by self-examination, but many parents know little about the timing of the diagnosis and treatment. Therefore, I think it is necessary to elaborate on the timing of diagnosis and treatment. Hypospadias can be simply divided into mild, moderate and severe. Some children need to have chromosomal examinations to determine the sex of the child and the influence of the family on the formation of the child’s gender, which in layman’s terms means deciding whether to raise the child as a boy or a girl, to avoid changing the sex of the child after he/she is 5-6 years old, which will have a huge negative impact on the child’s psychology. The following are some of the most important factors that can affect the child Although mild and moderate hypospadias do not have the problem of gender confusion, I still advocate that all surgeries and plastic surgery be completed before the child forms a memory, i.e. before the age of 3, to minimize the psychological impact of the disease on the child. Some foreign scholars who have studied sexual psychology have reported that children with hypospadias have an impact on their sexual life in adulthood. Therefore, I suggest that children with severe hypospadias should visit the hospital soon after birth, have relevant examinations to clarify the gender, and have surgery at the age of 1-2 years after symptomatic treatment if the penis is poorly developed before surgery; children with mild to moderate hypospadias should also have surgery at the age of 2 years to give them a generous period of time for post-operative recovery and penile self-shaping, so as to give them a childhood without painful memories.
