Can I still have a cholecystectomy at age 80?

Intermittent episodes of pain in the right upper abdomen for 2 years. gallbladder stones were found 2 years ago. After treatment, it improved. No more severe pain. 2 months ago developed weakness, dry mouth and sleep disorder. Blood test: HB50g/l. After admission, he was given 4 units of blood transfusion and his sleep and dry mouth symptoms improved, but his appetite was still poor. What is the next step of treatment, considering that he is too old, I don’t know if he can be operated. What to do if gallbladder stones cannot be corrected Gallbladder ultrasound shows multiple stones of various sizes in the gallbladder. Any surgical treatment must take into account two aspects: the benefits that the surgery can bring to the patient and the risks that the surgery may entail. Because surgery is a double-edged sword, on the one hand it can treat the disease, on the other hand surgery can lead to serious complications, especially in the elderly and in those with severe combined cardiopulmonary and systemic diseases. In elderly patients aged 80 years, if the symptoms of gallbladder stones are not frequent or not severe, surgery is usually not recommended because of the relatively high risk of surgery and can be treated by conservative internal medicine and dietary modification (low-fat diet). However, if the symptoms are severe and cannot be controlled by medical treatment, surgery should be undertaken under adequate preparation and close supervision.
