What is anxiety disorder

Back pain, headache, chest tightness and palpitations …… These symptoms are common in people’s lives, but many of them are caused by psychological reasons. They may be physically well, but always suspect they have a “serious illness”, and only when they see a “white coat” do they feel safe. A survey shows that such “patients” have accounted for about 30% of hospital outpatients. Experts believe that they should go to a psychological clinic or do anti-anxiety and depression treatment. “Thinking” out of the disease to seek medical treatment around 24-year-old Miss Xu is busy recently seeking medical treatment around. As a well-known foreign enterprise staff, she has been in a fast-paced life and work atmosphere. Last month, an old classmate was hospitalized because of myocarditis, after visiting the old classmate in the hospital, Miss Xu found herself also have a rapid heartbeat, palpitations, irregular heart rate, abdominal pain and other symptoms of myocarditis, so take time off to several tertiary hospitals in Shanghai, ECG and other tests done all over, the doctors agreed that her heart is not a problem. But in life, Ms. Xu still feels the “threat” of myocarditis to her everywhere. Hearing the sound of firecrackers she felt her heart beating wildly, riding in an air-conditioned car feeling breathless, sitting in the office also felt a strong chest tightness. Once she got sick for many years, she was afraid that she had a sudden heart failure 3 years ago, and her family quickly sent her to a nearby hospital for emergency care, which finally turned her life around. A few months later, when Grandma Lu’s grandson came to Shanghai from abroad, Grandma Lu was very excited and felt her heart beat a little faster all of a sudden, she couldn’t help but think of the previous attack and immediately asked her family to send her to the hospital. The emergency doctor, after multiple examinations, determined that everything was normal and that the elderly did not need to go to the hospital. But Grandma Lu thought those tests were the treatment and that the “disease” had been cured, and even praised the doctor for his high level. In the future, whenever she felt “sick”, she urged her family to take her to the emergency room, and once she saw the doctor at the hospital, her illness returned to normal. The internal anxiety leads to frequent heart disease Professor Wang Changqian, a doctoral supervisor in the Department of Cardiology at Shanghai Renji Hospital, pointed out that the clinical conditions of both Ms. Xu and Ms. Lu belong to heart disease. Many white-collar young people’s hypochondria is mostly due to work, life stress, too much fear of disease caused by. These people should learn to “decompress”, so that their inner distress can be properly ventilated. Older people tend to be insecure and don’t know how to deal with sudden illnesses. In addition, menopausal women are also a high-risk group for hypochondriasis. Mostly due to the decline of sex hormone secretion, the organism gradually aging, prone to emotional instability. Coupled with heavy family and social burdens, on the basis of depressive qualities, or under the influence of overwork or certain diseases, these people often develop various somatic symptoms, such as cardiovascular symptoms, gastrointestinal symptoms, persistent somatic pain, respiratory symptoms and menstrual disorders. Dr. Wang Yibo of the Department of Internal Medicine of Huangpu District Central Hospital, who has been concerned about the heart disease of outpatients, told reporters that he often encounters patients who seek medical help in the clinic. Some think they are suffering from cancer, some feel like AIDS, and have run all over the hospitals in Shanghai and done all kinds of tests, but the doctors are not willing to confirm the diagnosis, and even go to overseas hospitals for consultation and examination. Dr. Wang pointed out that in fact, such patients do not need to continue to seek medical treatment. If they have to go to the hospital, they should go to the psychosomatic department or the psychological medicine department of a general hospital for an anti-anxiety or depression test, and the doctor will make a final assessment based on their individual situation, and then determine whether it is psychological diversion treatment or medication. In short, such patients should communicate more with the outside world and pour out their hearts.
