What is the breast self-examination technique

Breast self-examination can be done by visual inspection and palpation.
1. Visual diagnosis: stand in front of a mirror with your hands hanging down naturally and observe whether the breasts are symmetrical and whether there is any localized bulge or depression. Raise your hands above your head and observe whether there is any change in the shape and contour of the breasts, and whether there is any redness, swelling or orange peel-like lesions on the skin of the breasts. Observe whether the nipple is on the same level and whether there is any symptom of inversion and retraction.
2. Palpation: Fingers together, fingertips touching the breasts, sliding palpation in the order of outer upper, outer lower, inner lower, inner upper, observing whether there are lumps and nodules in the breasts, pressing the nipple, observing whether there is liquid overflow. Check the lateral axilla and supraclavicular lymph nodes and observe whether there are symptoms of enlargement.
When adverse symptoms occur, patients are advised to go to the hospital in time for treatment under the guidance of professional doctors.
