What’s wrong with edema in the corner of the eye?

Edema in the corner of the eye is mainly the subcutaneous tissue in the corner of the eye, which may have fluid retention, manifested by a tense, shiny feeling of the skin, the main sensation may be itching, burning or pain, and the local manifestation may be dark red, patchy eyelid skin with possible clotting, papular exudate, and crusting. Its primary cause is inflammatory edema, a common cause of localized corneal edema. Eyelid inflammation or inflammation of nearby tissues, such as wheals, chalazion, lid dermatitis, lacrimal sacculitis, and cellulitis, can manifest as corneal edema with localized skin redness, swelling, heat, pain, and itching. There are also non-inflammatory edema, mainly due to obstruction of blood or lymphatic reflux.
