Snoring may be physiologic or a manifestation of sleep apnea syndrome, and the use of a ventilator can be useful for snoring. Snoring may be caused by obesity, poor sleeping posture, etc. that presses on the airway. Snoring can be improved by losing weight, quitting smoking and alcohol, and improving sleeping posture. However, if the patient snores and has sleep apnea, sleep apnea hypoventilation syndrome should be considered. If sleep apnea hypoventilation syndrome is caused by narrowing of nasal cavity and nasopharynx, such as deviated nasal septum, nasal polyps, enlarged adenoids and so on; and narrowing of oropharyngeal cavity, such as enlarged tonsils and so on, surgical treatment is feasible, which can correct the deviated nasal septum, remove the nasal polyps, adenoids, tonsils, and open up the airway, so as to improve the symptoms. The role of the ventilator is mainly continuous positive pressure ventilation, which is one of the more widely used and effective methods. The principle is to ensure that patients with sleep apnea and hypoventilation syndrome have an open airway during sleep through certain mechanical ventilation. It is more suitable for inoperable and seriously ill patients, through positive pressure ventilation, reduce the upper airway resistance, and improve the clinical symptoms of patients. It is recommended that snoring patients under the guidance of a doctor to carry out reasonable treatment to improve the quality of life.
