The main reason is that gastric cancer is less sensitive to chemotherapy than colorectal cancer, and the biological behavior of gastric cancer is different from that of colorectal cancer. However, there are still some patients with advanced gastric cancer who can obtain good surgical opportunities through more intensive chemotherapy combined with ideal local treatment (such as interventional hepatic artery embolization) when necessary. We have done 4 cases of gastric cancer with multiple liver metastases, and the patients were given a chance to have surgery after the liver metastases disappeared through hepatic artery chemoembolization, and the patients have survived for nearly 2 years with good quality of life.
