Emphysema will not turn into lung cancer.
Emphysema and lung cancer are two completely different diseases. Emphysema is a benign disease caused by the narrowing of small airways and the enlargement of distal lumen, which increases the gas and transparency of lungs; while lung cancer is a malignant disease caused by the abnormal proliferation of normal tissues in lungs due to the stimulation of chemical and physical factors, which is not directly related to each other.
Clinically, emphysema usually does not turn into lung cancer, but there are cases of emphysema combined with lung cancer, which need to be distinguished and diagnosed by chest CT. Emphysema is mainly treated with symptomatic treatment, while lung cancer requires timely surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
