Teratoma has no obvious symptoms in the early stage, with the growth of the tumor, it can be manifested as lumps in the corresponding parts, the common parts include ovary, testis, sacrococcygeal area and so on, and there can be wasting and other malignant manifestations.
1. Ovarian teratoma: mainly manifested as abdominal mass, abdominal pain, abdominal distension, irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, postmenopausal bleeding, precocious puberty, etc. If the tumor continues to increase, compression symptoms, such as difficulty in urination, defecation and so on, may appear.
2. Testicular teratoma: mainly manifested as testicular mass, testicular swelling, the affected side may have a sensation of swelling, mostly not accompanied by pain.
3. Sacrococcygeal teratoma: in addition to the visible mass in the sacrococcygeal area, patients may also have constipation, painful urination, abdominal pain, leg weakness, swelling in the tailbone area and other uncomfortable symptoms.
In addition to the above symptoms, teratoma can also manifest as generalized weakness, weight loss and other systemic manifestations.
If the patient has the above symptoms and suspects the existence of teratoma, he/she should consult the doctor in time to improve the relevant examinations, such as serum alpha-fetoprotein and human chorionic gonadotropin test, serum tumor marker test, X-ray, ultrasound and so on, so as to make a clear diagnosis of the disease, and don’t make a blind judgment on your own.
