Most patients with brain metastasis of squamous lung cancer still have good effect of radiotherapy, more than half of the patients’ brain metastases will be shrunken and headache and other symptoms will be reduced obviously.
Brain metastases of squamous lung cancer are more sensitive to radiotherapy. Radiation can effectively kill squamous cancer cells, and the cell death will make the metastases in the brain shrink or disappear, so that the symptoms caused by brain metastases, such as headache, vomiting, limb speech disorder, etc., will be relieved, which will improve the quality of survival of patients with brain metastases of advanced squamous lung cancer effectively.
For patients with small foci and less than three brain metastases of squamous lung cancer, stereotactic radiotherapy can be adopted, which can not only control the tumor, but also cause fewer side effects in general. For patients with more and larger brain metastases, whole brain radiotherapy can be adopted, which can achieve better results.
