Seahorse can be combined with ginseng, deer antler, raspberry, cuttlebone, wood sorrel, angelica and other herbs, and there is no such thing as a best match. Seahorse has the effect of tonifying the kidney and strengthening the yang, regulating qi and activating blood circulation (regulating qi movement while promoting blood circulation). It can be used to treat impotence, spermatorrhea and enuresis, asthma due to kidney deficiency, impediment in the abdomen (tangible or intangible lumps in the abdomen with distension and pain), bruises, boils and poisons, and so on. 1. Hippocampus has the effect of warming the kidneys and strengthening yang (warming and tonifying yang qi in the kidneys) and is used in treating kidney yang deficiency (deficiency of yang qi in the kidneys), which can be combined with ripened dihuang (熟地黄), ginseng (人参), and antler (鹿茸), etc.; and in treating frequent nocturnal enuresis it can be combined with sangbangtseok (桑螵蛸), and raspberries. Seahorses can tonify kidney yang and are often combined with ginseng, walnuts and mealybugs in the treatment of coughing and wheezing caused by insufficient kidney yang (lack of yang energy in the kidneys). 2. Hippocampus can help promote yang and blood circulation (promoting the production of yang and blood circulation), regulate qi and relieve pain, so it can treat impediments and accumulations of masses caused by qi stagnation and blood stasis (blood stasis due to lack of qi circulation), and can be used in conjunction with Mucuna Pruriens and Rhubarb, etc. It can also be used in conjunction with Angelica Sinensis and Blood Filtration in treating qi and blood stagnation, and in the treatment of injuries caused by falls and bruises. Note that pregnant women and patients with yin deficiency and fire exuberance (deficiency of yin and essence in the body, resulting in hyperactivity of deficiency fire) should not consume seahorse. Do not eat cold and raw food while taking the medicine. Hippocampus needs to be used under the guidance of a professional Chinese medicine practitioner, and should not be used blindly.
