Differential diagnosis of thermoregulatory disorders

Thermoregulatory disorders are fever resulting from abnormalities in the thermoregulatory center caused by central nervous system disorders. Dysfunction of the central nervous system affects the function of the vegetative nervous system, resulting in abnormal function of the cardiovascular system. The cause of the disease may be related to physical, neurological, peripheral environment and genetic factors. Some patients are often in a state of depression and anxiety and sadness are also more likely to cause thermoregulatory disorders. It is mainly due to the dysfunction of the central nervous system, which affects the function of the vegetative nerve and causes abnormal function of the cardiovascular system. Thermoregulatory disorders should be distinguished from the following symptoms: Flushing of the cheeks Flushing of the cheeks is a common symptom of life, but can also be seen in certain pathological conditions. Hypothermia and fatigue Body temperature is one of the most important features of human life, and it fluctuates within a range over a 24-hour day and night period, rather than being constant. Methods of measuring body temperature usually include oral temperature, axillary temperature and anal temperature, of which axillary and oral temperatures are more commonly used. A normal person’s body temperature is usually an axillary temperature of 36.6℃-37.4℃. If someone’s axillary temperature fluctuates from 37.4℃-38.3℃, it can be called hypothermia. And prolonged hypothermia often signals that something may be wrong with the body, which can make the body consumptive and exhausting, requiring attention and a timely visit to the doctor. Heatstroke Heatstroke is a general term for the symptoms of impaired thermoregulation, disorders of water and electrolyte metabolism, and neurological impairment under the prolonged action of high temperature and thermal radiation. Patients with craniocerebral disorders, the elderly, the weak, and women with poor maternal heat tolerance are particularly vulnerable to heat stroke.
