Positive urine glucose with normal blood glucose is mostly seen in women with kidney disease leading to lower renal glucose threshold and reduced ability of renal tubules to absorb glucose, resulting in glucose excretion from urine, and also in women during pregnancy. In addition, don’t just check fasting blood sugar, Chinese diet is mainly carbohydrates, a considerable number of diabetic patients have high postprandial blood sugar although fasting level is normal, so it is recommended to further check intravenous blood sugar 2 hours after meal, or do glucose tolerance test directly, which can clearly diagnose whether there is hyperglycemia. If urine sugar caused by high blood sugar is excluded, then we should consider whether there is kidney disease, and we can go to the department of nephrology for kidney ultrasound examination. If there is no kidney disease, then do urine routine recheck at an optional date.
