How to treat uremic pericardial effusion

Uremic pericardial effusion, treatment should address the problem of uremia. If the amount of pericardial effusion is large, pericardial puncture and drainage can be performed, combined with drug therapy. Uremic pericardial effusion can cause restriction of diastolic function of the heart. Patients with stasis in the body circulation show lower limb edema, abdominal distension, loss of appetite, pleural effusion, abdominal effusion, etc. Diuretics need to be applied to improve symptoms, and attention should be paid to blood pressure while applying diuretics to treat heart failure, because a large amount of pericardial effusion can cause a significant decrease in blood pressure. Uremia treatment is preferred to hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis can be used for severe ascites. When the toxins in the body such as creatinine and urea nitrogen are reduced to a certain range, the pericardial effusion caused by uremia will improve significantly. If pericardial effusion is combined with symptoms of pericardial compression, pericardial puncture and drainage must be performed. Pericardial puncture and drainage is only symptomatic treatment and cannot fundamentally solve the problem of pericardial effusion caused by uremia.
