Heart valve disease murmur characteristics

In heart valve disease, murmurs occur at different times depending on the valve damage, for example, in mitral stenosis, a low-pitched rumble-like murmur can be heard in the apical region during late diastole, in an increasing pattern. In mitral valve insufficiency, a systolic wind-like murmur can be heard in the apical region. The intensity of the murmur is usually loud and can sometimes be accompanied by systolic tremor. In aortic stenosis, we can also hear some murmurs, which are mainly heard between the 1-2 ribs at the right edge of the sternum, and are rough and loud jet-like murmurs, which are systolic murmurs. In case of aortic valve insufficiency, a diastolic murmur can be heard in the aortic valve area as a high-pitched, decreasing, sigh-like murmur.
