There are no drugs for heart valve disease per se. Heart valve disease is treated mainly by surgical and interventional methods.
1. Surgery: Surgical heart valve repair can be used to repair the aortic valve, mitral valve and tricuspid valve. Surgical prosthetic valve replacement is suitable for severe calcification and deformity of valve leaflets and subvalve structures, and valve stenosis combined with incomplete closure.
2. Interventional therapy: Percutaneous mitral balloon angioplasty is suitable for patients with anatomically appropriate rheumatic mitral stenosis. Percutaneous aortic valve balloon angioplasty is suitable for children and adolescents with congenital aortic stenosis, and can also be used for transition before surgical aortic valve replacement in patients with significant stenosis and severe left heart failure. Percutaneous heart valve repair is indicated in patients who have an indication for surgical intervention but are at high surgical risk or have contraindications to surgery.
Patients with a confirmed diagnosis of heart valve disease are advised to go to the hospital in a timely manner and choose the appropriate modality of treatment under the guidance of a physician.
