The clinical symptoms in patients with novel coronavirus infection are usually fever, dry cough, and general malaise, but some patients may present with diarrhea, nasal congestion, runny nose, headache, and chest tightness. Although a variety of clinical manifestations can occur in virally infected individuals, none of these clinical manifestations are specific and are very similar to those caused by other respiratory viral infections, with no definite diagnostic significance. At present, the clinical diagnosis of the disease is mainly based on pathogenic testing, and only patients with positive pathogenic tests can be finally identified with novel coronavirus infection. Self-judgment should not be made only from symptoms. If there is a history of exposure and fever and other manifestations, it is necessary to promptly visit the fever clinics of designated hospitals in each region for formal pathogenetic testing.
