Distortion of vision is a frequent symptom of patients’ complaints heard in ophthalmology clinics. Mostly due to macular lesion or retinal or choroidal lesion near macula, which causes obvious edema of retina and widens the interval of optic cells on retina, or due to retinal adhesion, scarring contraction traction, which makes optic cells crowded in one piece or overlapping, etc. When looking at something, the shape and size of the object will change greatly, such as the object becomes smaller or the object becomes larger. There are quite a few ophthalmic diseases that cause visual distortion, such as keratoconus and lens disease, but the common causes are various fundus diseases. Examination: Patients have subjective symptoms and ophthalmic examination of patients, such as systemic diseases often occur fundus lesions, when fundoscopy is needed to observe the fundus. If macular degeneration, even fundus fluorescence angiography is needed to confirm the diagnosis. Patients with visual distortion usually need the following tests at the ophthalmology consultation: visual acuity test, Amsler table test, ocular slit lamp test, dilated fundus examination (this is very important), and then depending on the results of the previous tests, decide whether to do fundus ultrasound, fundus fluorescence angiography, indocyanine green choroidal angiography, optical coherence tomography and other tests. Finally, the results of the tests are evaluated by a specialist, and then a clear diagnosis is made and the best treatment is chosen.
