There is no absolute statement about which one recovers faster with or without stenting for cerebral infarction, and the clinic mainly chooses stenting or conservative treatment according to the patient’s indications.
1. If the patient suffers from acute ischemic cerebrovascular disease, and it is clear that the blood vessel is severely narrowed or has been blocked by cerebral angiography and other examinations, then stenting and medication are needed.
The indications for cerebral infarction are generally between 30 and 79 years old; cerebrovascular stenosis is greater than 50%, and asymptomatic stenosis needs to be greater than 70% and above; the main target vessels include internal carotid artery, vertebral artery, and P1 segment of posterior cerebral artery.
2. Stent intervention is mainly for large vessel lesions, for intracranial small vessel lesions generally do not recommend surgical treatment, mainly based on conservative treatment, such as the use of aspirin or clopidogrel anti-platelet aggregation, atorvastatin or resuvastatin and other drugs to stabilize plaque and so on.
When suffering from cerebral infarction, it is recommended that one should go to the Neurology Clinic of the hospital in time and choose a reasonable treatment plan under the guidance of the doctor.
