The causes of gastric distension include physiological factors and pathological factors such as gastritis, gastric ulcer, functional dyspepsia and other causes.
1. Physiological factors: mainly due to fatigue, sleep deprivation and other factors, resulting in a decrease in gastric motility, thus delaying the emptying of food, causing symptoms of gastric distension, which is a normal physiological phenomenon.
2. Gastritis: Gastritis may be related to Helicobacter pylori infection, which can cause indigestion, the food in the stomach is not easy to be digested and absorbed and accumulates in the stomach, the abnormal fermentation will cause flatulence, and at the same time, the slow function of gastrointestinal peristalsis will cause the symptom of gastric distension.
3. Gastric ulcer: It is mainly due to the damage of gastric mucous membrane which leads to slow peristalsis and abnormal digestive function. Some cases only show symptoms of indigestion such as epigastric distension, epigastric discomfort, anorexia and acid reflux.
4. Functional dyspepsia: a disease caused by the dysfunction of the stomach and duodenum, patients will experience postprandial fullness and pain in the middle and upper abdomen, and therefore symptoms of gastric distension.
If the patient has a bloated stomach manifestation continues not to relieve, after excluding physiological factors, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to find out the cause of the disease after targeted treatment.
