Appendiceal malformation is a rare congenital variant with a low incidence. after Meckel (1822) first reported it, it was successively seen in the literature, and Collins (1955) found 2 cases (0.004%) of double appendiceal malformation in 50,000 cases. The first case was reported in China (1958) by Huo Wando, and 60 cases were recorded in China by 1998. The occurrence of appendiceal malformation is related to genetic and environmental factors, especially in the 5th-8th weeks of embryo, due to viruses, nutrition, radiation, trauma or drugs. Menten (1945) and Wallbridge (1962) have classified appendicular malformations into three categories and four types, based on the repetition of the appendix and the cecum: 1. a single cecum with a single appendix with varying degrees of partial repetition. (2) A single appendix with two completely separated appendices, which is further divided into two types: (1) Two appendices on both sides of the ileocecal valve, called bird type. (2) one appendix in the central position, while the other in any position of the colonic band, called colonic band type. (3) Repeated appendixes, each with one appendix.
