Cysts in the left adnexal region of the uterus can be either ovarian cysts or tubal cysts. Cysts of the ovary are subdivided into physiological cysts and pathological cysts. Physiological cysts are mainly caused by cysts resulting from the formation of the corpus luteum after ovulation. These cysts do not cause any clinical discomfort and therefore do not require treatment. Pathological ovarian cysts, the cause of which is not well understood so far, are recommended to be treated with surgery as soon as they are detected. Left adnexal cysts also include cysts in the fallopian tubes. Most of the cysts in the fallopian tubes are clinically caused by inflammation of the fallopian tubes, mainly due to chronic inflammatory exudation of the fallopian tubes, resulting in fluid accumulation in the fallopian tubes and the formation of cysts, which are best treated with surgery or medication.
