Can you have surgery for flashes of nearsightedness?

Myopic astigmatism can be surgically corrected, either by corneal laser surgery or by lens implantation, but the decision depends on the degree of astigmatism. If the astigmatism is low, typically under 300 diopters, it can be completely corrected with myopic laser surgery. If the astigmatism is high or irregular, topography-guided or wavefront aberration-guided hemi-femtosecond surgery may be needed to achieve better results and better visual quality after surgery. If the myopia is high and combined with astigmatism, which may not be fully corrected by laser surgery alone, lens implantation may be considered as a better option than laser.
