Tolterodine Tablets or Tolterodine Tartrate Tablets, also known by its trade name Schenectady, is a commonly used urological drug for the treatment of unstable bladder (OAB), also known as overactive bladder, which is usually effective after 2-3 days of taking this drug. It is an M-blocker, which mainly inhibits the contraction of the bladder’s detrusor muscle and is used for frequent, urgent or urge urinary incontinence caused by overexcitation of the bladder. If you have difficulty in urination when taking this drug, you should seek medical attention promptly. Because this drug can cause urinary retention, it should not be used in patients with lower urinary tract obstruction and increased residual urine. For elderly prostate enlargement, if you take this drug, you should combine it with an alpha1 receptor blocker, such as tamsulosin capsules. Patients with gastrointestinal obstruction and narrow-angle glaucoma should not apply this drug.
