Longan meat is warm in nature and may cause fire if consumed in excess, which is related to factors such as individual constitution and how much is consumed. When consumed in daily life, attention should be paid to moderation.
Longan meat is the aril of longan, a plant of the genus Longan in the family Sapindaceae, with a sweet flavor and warm nature.
It has the effects of tonifying the heart and spleen (tonifying the heart and spleen with nourishing drugs), nourishing the blood and calming the mind (stabilizing the mind and soothing the emotions by nourishing the blood). It can be combined with ginseng to treat palpitations (rapid heartbeat, often accompanied by panic) and insomnia; with calamus to treat dizziness and fainting; and with angelica to treat blood deficiency and vertigo.
It can also be used as a lotus seed, glutinous rice, etc., made of longan meat porridge, as a therapeutic diet for people with palpitations and insomnia of the heart, spleen and blood deficiency type. It should not be used by people with internal phlegm-fire or stagnant dampness-drinking.
When used as medicine, it should be guided by a doctor and should not be taken on its own to avoid adverse consequences.
