Calcium supplementation has nothing to do with gallstones because gallbladder stones are cholesterol crystals, which are mainly caused by poor bile excretion and have nothing to do with calcium supplementation. There is a relationship between calcium supplementation and kidney stones. Kidney stones are associated with a high salt and sodium diet, i.e. a high sodium diet can cause an increase in stones. In addition, increased levels of uric acid and oxalic acid in the blood and insufficient daily water intake can trigger kidney stones. Calcium supplementation is related to kidney stones in a U-shaped curve, i.e. too much or too little calcium supplementation can increase the risk of kidney stones. Daily attention should be paid to a normal diet, avoiding partial eating, picky eating and excessive food intake.
