Post-surgical diet for lung cancer

  Nutrition plays a very important role in the comprehensive treatment of lung cancer, and good nutritional support can help the smooth treatment and recovery. If adequate nutrition is provided before or during surgery, the patient will tolerate surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy better, and the recovery will be faster.  Usually, the nutrition source of human body can be divided into three aspects: dietary nutrition, enteral nutrition and parenteral nutrition (intravenous nutrition). Dietary nutrition should be the main source, and when dietary nutrition is insufficient, enteral and parenteral nutrition should be supplemented.  The digestive system function of early and middle stage lung cancer patients is sound. They should seize the time to supplement the organism with comprehensive nutrition in order to improve the body quality and strengthen the resistance. Meat, fish, eggs, milk, beans, rice and flour coarse grains, fresh vegetables and fruits should be chosen to provide rich protein, sufficient heat, and adequate vitamins. Generally consume 200g to 500g of cereals, 250ml of dairy, 125g to 250g of meat, fish and eggs, 50g of soybeans and products, 400g to 500g of vegetables, 100g to 200g of fruits, and more edible mushrooms that can increase immunity, such as chicken stewed with shiitake mushrooms and chicken confit with cloud fungus. Note that vegetables and fruits should not be interchanged. It is advisable to use stewing, boiling, steaming and other easy-to-digest methods of cooking, and to use less frying, stir-frying and other methods with more fire.  Dietary contraindications: avoid smoking and alcohol; avoid spicy and stimulating foods: onion, garlic, leek, ginger, pepper, chili, cinnamon, etc.; avoid hot foods such as frying and barbecue; avoid desserts, greasy and sticky foods that produce phlegm.
The diet after lung cancer surgery should also pay attention to eating more fresh vegetables and fruits, such as green, yellow and red vegetables, as well as black fungus, almond dew, water chestnut, asparagus, lemon, red dates, etc., because fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamin C, which is a cancer inhibiting substance and can block the production of cancer cells; foods that can enhance the immunity of the body and help drugs inhibit cancer cells can be used, such as snapper, yellow fish, sweet almonds, walnuts, dates, shiitake mushrooms According to the different symptom expressions, foods with cough, antipyretic, hemostatic, smooth gas, broad chest and pain relieving effects can be used in a targeted manner to relieve pain and enhance treatment confidence; do not eat foods including fried foods; avoid eating shrimps, crabs and other foods that can easily cause allergy.
