After tympanic membrane repair surgery, hearing recovery time is usually about 1-3 months, depending on individual differences. Within two weeks after surgery, the ear canal will be filled with hemostatic material and hearing will be relatively poor, and there may be stuffy ears, tinnitus and, in a few cases, dizziness, but it is not particularly serious. A weekly review is recommended after the surgery, mainly to observe the recovery after the tympanic membrane repair surgery. Most patients will have improved or stabilized hearing 1-3 months after surgery. However, there are some patients who have severe middle ear inflammation and may have a disruption of the auditory chain and may experience hearing loss after surgery.
