Kidney stones can be discharged in a few days after lithotripsy

After kidney stone lithotripsy treatment, the discharge of stones needs to be judged according to the lithotripsy protocol. Currently, there are two types of kidney stone lithotripsy treatment, one is extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, which uses the energy of shock wave to focus the energy at the stone and crush the stone to discharge, after the treatment, you can see the stone discharge during urination, and at the same time, there can be the situation of naked eye hematuria. Since the stones vary in size and are crushed into multiple pieces, the stone discharge can last 3-5 days. A follow-up urological ultrasound is required about 1 week after the procedure to check the stone discharge, and extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy can be performed again if necessary. Another kind of minimally invasive surgical treatment, through the ureter, percutaneous nephrolithoscopy and other minimally invasive techniques to remove stones, basically there will be no stone residue, for some relatively small stones, after surgery can be gradually drained out with the drainage tube of the kidney calyx, usually about 2-3 days to discharge clean. When the stones are discharged, it is recommended to adjust daily life and diet, drink more water and exercise more to avoid the recurrence of stones.
