Kawasaki disease review program for young children

The common items that are reviewed for Kawasaki disease in young children include routine blood tests, urine tests, and liver and kidney functions. An electrocardiogram and cardiac ultrasound are also needed, especially in children with early cardiac involvement, to monitor the heart for valve and large vessel damage. Most children with Kawasaki disease are treated promptly in the early stages and do not have sequelae. However, some children have abnormal heart function or arterial stenosis due to severe or delayed disease or poor response to medication.
