The recruitment point for the Kidney is the Jingmen point.
The Jingmen point belongs to the foot Shaoyang bile meridian and is located in the upper abdomen, when the 12th rib free end of the lower margin. Jingmen is a kidney recruitment point, a place where meridian qi is concentrated, and an important point for benefiting the kidneys and inducing diuresis. This point has the effects of benefiting the kidney and strengthening the spleen, transforming Qi and inducing diuresis, and clearing channels and relieving pain. It is mainly used for treating dysuria, edema, abdominal distension, bowel sounds, diarrhea and lumbago.
Jingmen acupoint with Rangu acupoint and Yinlingquan acupoint for dysentery; with Zhaohai acupoint for yellow urine and impassable watercourse; with Kidney acupoint, Bladder acupoint, and Zhizhong acupoint for lumbago; and with Shiguan acupoint for strong spine and reflexes.
