Belimumab usually refers to belimumab for injection. It is not possible to make a single judgment about how many courses of treatment are needed; the recommended dosing regimen for this drug is 10 mg/kg given every 2 weeks for the first 3 doses and every 4 weeks thereafter. Discontinuation of this product should be considered if there is no improvement in disease control after 6 months of treatment. The main ingredient among Belimumab for Injection is Belimumab, which can be used in combination with conventional therapy for adult patients with SLE who still have advanced disease activity on the basis of conventional therapy, e.g., anti-ds-DNA antibody positivity and low complement, SELENA-SLEDAI scores ≥8, and autoantibody positivity. Intravenous fluid administration is required for treatment, but the medication needs to be administered according to the doctor’s instructions and should not be administered privately to avoid inappropriate dosage control. Adverse reactions such as pharyngitis, bronchitis, urinary tract infection, and rash may occur in some patients when treated with the drug. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients in this product. Lactation, pregnancy and women of childbearing age require medical supervision.
