Which animal bites do not require rabies vaccination?

Nowadays, there are more and more kinds of pets, and there are all kinds of cases of injuries caused by animals. Many children or adults are too close to animals when playing with them, so there are many inquiries such as: “My child was scratched by a monkey on the mountain, should I get a vaccination?” ”My child was bitten by a rabbit, should he be vaccinated?” ”Should I get a rabies vaccination for a bite from a hamster?” ”The baby was pecked by a chicken, should I get vaccinated? And turtles / lizards / alpacas …… Next, we will give you a classification of the 20 common small animals to explain. 1, only mammals can get rabies, such as dogs and pigs; birds, fish, insects, lizards oysters, turtles and snakes do not contract and spread rabies. Remember these types of animals, they do not transmit rabies and do not need rabies vaccination. 2. Bites from rodents and rabbits usually do not require rabies vaccination. That said, rabbits can bite in a hurry. In fact, it is not uncommon for pet rabbits to bite during play. Bites from various rodent pets also occur frequently, squirrels, guinea pigs, hamsters are among them, chinchillas are also rodents, and not cats. Note that these animal bites, too, usually do not require rabies vaccination. Unless, of course, it is a hamster that has been bitten by a rabid dog. Generally this kind of animal living in a cage is also very difficult to come into contact with rabies virus. 3. Please seek medical attention for bat bites, which require vaccination. In the United States, bats are the cause of most human rabies deaths. The bats we normally see in China are small bats such as brown bats, which mainly feed on mosquitoes and insects and do not actively attack people. If a bat mistakenly enters a room, it is best to open windows and lights to let it fly away automatically, and using your hands to pat it may cause it to fight back instead. However, if you are bitten by a bat, please seek medical attention promptly, and you will need a rabies vaccination. 4.Do I need rabies vaccination if I am bitten by a “human”? For various reasons, many people have inquired about the need for rabies vaccination after being bitten by a person. In fact, if a person does not have rabies, he or she will not transmit rabies. And it is not a matter of judging whether a person is a rabid person or not by whether the person is acting crazy and has a violent temper. A real rabid person should normally be in the hospital and would not be so lucky to be encountered by you and have a bite. Of course, whether you need to be vaccinated or not, I recommend staying away from people like “rabid dogs”, who can bring far more harm to others than rabies.
