Tofacitinib may be effective in the treatment of vitiligo. The main component of tofacitinib is tofacitinib citrate, which is clinically used for the treatment of moderately severe active rheumatoid arthritis disease that cannot tolerate methotrexate or the application of methotrexate is ineffective. However, tofacitinib has now been reported in the literature to have possible efficacy in vitiligo. The common adverse effects of taking tofacitinib are respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, pneumonia, herpes zoster, etc. Other adverse effects include anemia, insomnia, dyspnea, abdominal pain, and dyspepsia. The use of Tofacitinib is contraindicated in infected individuals, hypoproteinemia, and women during pregnancy.
