Can enlarged hearts be reversed?

It is basically impossible.
After cardiomyocyte hypertrophy has occurred, leading to compensatory enlargement of the heart, it leads to proliferation and even degeneration at the cellular level, which is generally considered to be an irreversible process and can only be delayed. However, there are studies that suggest that angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors can reverse myocardial remodelling to some extent, but they are not conclusive and need further validation.
