Short stature criteria: 1. Height lower than the average of current height in the region – 2 standard deviations; 2. Height growth rate <5cm/year. Distribution of diseases in children with short stature: idiopathic 35.3%, growth hormone deficiency 18.8%, somatic puberty delay 17.6%, intrauterine growth retardation 6.5%, precocious puberty 5.6%, chromosomal disease 3.9%, bone disease 1.2%, other systemic diseases 6.6%, other diseases 4.5%. Growth hormone deficiency: 1. Height is below the third percentile of the same age and sex. 2.Half of the children with the disease develop after one year of age, growth rate is slowed down, growth rate <4cm/year. 3. Normal intelligence, proportional body shape, childish face, small jaw, delayed tooth eruption, relatively abundant abdominal subcutaneous fat, small penis, and delayed puberty.
