The chance of recurrence of pediatric hernia is closely related to the patient’s recovery as well as the patient’s living and eating habits, and the recurrence rate of hernia is clinically estimated to be less than 0.1%. The recurrence rate of hernia, especially in pediatric patients, has been greatly reduced due to the current laparoscopic interventional hernia repair surgery, which has a better treatment effect. To reduce the chance of recurrence of pediatric hernia, attention should be paid to living habits and diet. Children should be encouraged to eat more coarse fiber and dietary fiber to reduce the occurrence of constipation and to reduce abdominal pressure. Attention should be paid to avoid strenuous exercise, crying and other behaviors, all of which are conducive to reducing abdominal pressure and preventing hernia recurrence. In the case of recurrence of pediatric hernia, conservative treatment can also be taken for mild cases, and if the recurrence is more serious, secondary surgery is required.
