Ankylosing spondylitis does not usually cause itchy skin. Itchy skin may be caused by adverse drug reactions, allergic skin diseases and living environment.
1. Adverse drug reactions: Ankylosing spondylitis is an autoimmune disease with spinal joint involvement, characterized by changes in tendon and attachment point inflammation, and usually does not manifest itself as itchy skin. The therapeutic drugs for this disease are mainly non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen, and some patients may have adverse reactions such as skin itching, which are considered to be related to the drugs.
2. Allergic skin diseases: various allergic skin diseases can cause itchy skin, due to the onset of ankylosing spondylitis and immune system abnormalities related to the patient may be more prone to itchy skin and other manifestations.
3. Living environment: environmental factors, including temperature changes, sun exposure, clothing, etc., can cause itchy skin in patients, which can usually be improved by detaching from the above factors.
If patients with ankylosing spondylitis have itchy skin, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital as soon as possible to find out the cause of the itchy skin and standardize the treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
