What is the mortality rate of eating disorders?

Eating disorders are a difficult and easily chronic group of disorders, with two categories: anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. With a mortality rate of 5% to 20%, anorexia nervosa has the highest mortality rate of any mental disorder, of which 20% die from suicide and 80% from somatic complications such as extreme malnutrition.
Specific data on the mortality rate of bulimia nervosa is not yet known, but combined with its difficulty to treat and its tendency to relapse, it also carries a certain risk of death.
