How long does a blood transfusion for anemia last?

Anemia blood transfusion can last about 1 week to 1 month at a time, depending on individual circumstances.
Usually blood transfusion refers to transfusion of de-whitened red blood cells. Anemia is divided into acute and chronic blood loss, and blood loss due to hemorrhage can be properly supplemented with blood products.
Anemia is divided into mild, moderate, severe and very severe anemia. Mild is 90~120g/L, moderate 60~90g/L. Clinically below 70g/L, it meets the indication of blood transfusion.
Normally red blood cells can survive for about 3 months, but after transfusion, there will be loss of red blood cells due to the body’s own reasons and the storage process, and the maintenance time may be about 1 month. If the body has hemolysis, hemoglobin destruction more and other reasons, the maintenance time will be shortened.
If the patient has anemia, it is recommended to seek medical treatment in time and under the guidance of professional doctors.
