What to do about pleural nodules

If a pleural nodule is found during a CT chest examination, the first thing to look at is the morphology of the pleural nodule. If it is a corn-like solid nodule, it is usually a benign nodule and can be observed and treated, and a yearly review of the chest CT is sufficient. If the pleural nodule is relatively large, 2-3 cm, and there are burrs and pulling of the surrounding tissues and pleural indentation signs, it should be suspected that there is a pleural lesion, such as pleural mesothelioma, which should be surgically removed and then pathological examination should be done to see what the disease actually is.
