ADHD children, parents should not scold

Three weeks into the school year, most students’ excitement is fading, but teachers will find some children “different”, their excitement seems to increase, inattentive in class, can not sit still, and always like to “harass” other students. Experts point out that “attention deficit hyperactivity disorder” is one of the common psychological behavior disorders in children, it will have a significant impact on children’s schooling, personality formation. Parents and teachers should not only understand the causes of the child’s “hyperactivity”, but also start with what interests the child to help him/her gradually overcome the problem of distraction. The children with hyperactivity “highlight” after elementary school Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital, Guangdong Provincial Institute of Mental Health, deputy director of the physician Qi Yuanli said, in kindergarten, children are still mainly “play”, once the “active The problem of low attention span and poor academic performance will come to the fore once the “active” children go to elementary school, under the uniform teaching mode. This is the time when parents seek medical attention because their children often fail to complete homework detentions, cannot concentrate in class, and have poor academic performance. Of course, whether a child belongs to ADHD requires a rigorous assessment by a doctor to confirm the diagnosis, and parents should not easily label their children as “ADHD” just because they are “hyperactive”. The biggest problem for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is that they don’t pay attention in class, resulting in poor academic performance. Chi Yuanli said that most parents bring their children with ADHD to the clinic with the main complaint of inattention, hyperactivity or learning difficulties. Usually, the problem of “hyperactivity” starts to show up when they enter elementary school. In a 45-minute class, children with ADHD can only pay attention for about 15 minutes, and the rest of the time they are “deserting”. Some parents are unaware of their child’s problems and often cannot understand why their child is so “stubborn”. In fact, there is a genetic component to ADHD, and children with ADHD often have one or more close relatives who also have ADHD. One study found that at least 1/3 of fathers who had ADHD also had children with ADHD. In addition, ADHD is also associated with mild brain injury, vitamin and trace element iron and zinc deficiencies, food allergies, lead contamination, food additives, and rust removers can also be triggers for ADHD. Therefore, parents should first understand the causes of their children’s “out-of-character” behavior and actively seek solutions. Children with hyperactivity need multiple care Attention deficit, hyperactivity and impulsiveness are the behavioral characteristics of children with ADHD, and children with ADHD do not consciously do “damage” themselves, but parents do not always tolerate it, and some teachers and classmates do not understand. So parental scolding, teacher criticism, classmate isolation, has become the ADHD children’s “dilemma”. Chi Yuanli said, ADHD treatment from the child, parents, school teachers and doctors, especially parents should change the previous scolding attitude towards children, learn to use rewards and punishments and other effective educational methods, such as the long learning tasks broken down into small blocks of time to increase learning efficiency. Research has found that ADHD exists where fathers have little communication with their children. Increasing the closeness to the child may, to some extent, increase the motivation of the affected child to overcome the symptoms. Parents should also regulate their own words and actions to teach by example.
