Ben Dolphin Tang is effective in dispersing liver and clearing heat, lowering rebelliousness and relieving pain. It is indicated for the treatment of the disease caused by panic and irritation, liver qi stagnation (poor qi and blood transportation in the liver, emotional depression), Pengyu qi rushing upward to the chest; liver-stomach disharmony (disharmony in the functioning of the liver’s ascending and the stomach’s descending organs), qi reversal attacking upward, coercion and rib pain, yelping (hiccups) and vomiting ergotism.
