How to get rid of melasma

Chloasma patients will have yellow-brown spots on the face, which can usually be improved or removed by general treatment, medication and other treatments, and patients should follow the doctor’s instructions according to their own conditions.
1. General treatment: patients should pay attention to avoiding direct sunlight, exercising properly, ensuring sufficient sleep, eating regularly, maintaining a good mood and mindset, and choosing suitable cleansers and skin care products.
2. Medication: patients can use hydroquinone cream, Vitamin A acid drugs, azelaic acid and other drugs applied locally to play the role of fading pigmentation, pay attention to drug-induced irritant dermatitis, post-inflammatory pigmentation and other adverse reactions.
Patients can also systematically apply tranexamic acid, vitamin C, vitamin E, glycyrrhizin and other drugs under the guidance of doctors to inhibit melanin production and enhance the antioxidant capacity.
3. Other treatments: including photoelectric treatment and chemical peeling treatment: the former is to utilize the photothermal principle of laser light to break down the pigment particles and metabolize them through lymphocyte circulation; the latter is to utilize chemical peeling medication to promote the turnover of keratinocytes and accelerate the transfer and discharge of melanin particles from the basal layer to the stratum corneum.
Phototherapy and chemical peeling treatment are suitable for chloasma patients in the stable stage, but we should also pay attention to the adverse reactions such as increase or decrease of pigmentation after inflammation or scarring will be formed.
Chloasma is usually treated with a combination of the above methods in clinic. It is suggested that patients should go to regular hospitals in time, formulate reasonable treatment plans under the guidance of doctors, standardize the treatment, and should not use medication on their own, so as not to miss the best treatment time.
