How long can you live after a tumor recurrence?

The survival period of most patients after tumor recurrence is not very long, about one year, and some patients only survive for several months. However, different tumors have different treatment effects on the disease, so the survival time after recurrence of different tumors is also different. Lung cancer patients may have slightly longer survival after recurrence, mainly because there are more targeted drugs used to treat lung cancer, such as Gefitinib and Anrotinib. Immunotherapy is also applied to lung cancer, such as PD-1 inhibitor nabumab, etc. Patients with lung cancer may have a slightly longer survival after a recurrence, about several years. Patients with breast cancer are also very sensitive to chemotherapy, and after breast cancer recurrence with chemotherapy or endocrine therapy, patients can also survive for several years. Patients with pancreatic and hepatocellular carcinoma are not so sensitive to chemotherapy, and in case of recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma or pancreatic cancer, the survival period is generally shorter.
