A common cause of hindfoot tendon pain is Achilles tendon stopping point inflammation and Achilles tendon bursitis. The stopping point of the Achilles tendon is attached to the back of the heel bone, commonly known as the back of the heel, and can cause local inflammation because of repeated weight-bearing walking, standing, jumping, and other activities, or excessive friction of the upper due to wearing shoes that are too hard. In some patients, this symptom is also aggravated by the enlarged deformity of the heel. After this symptom occurs, a film or local ultrasound should be taken to observe for posterior inflammation of the heel bone and bursa edema. The symptoms can be relieved by reducing activity, self-stretching the Achilles tendon, applying heat, taking oral anti-inflammatory and analgesic medication, or applying topical anti-inflammatory and analgesic cream.
