Depressed oedema is an oedema that appears as a depression when the finger is pressed on the oedema and released, and takes a few seconds to settle down. This depression can occur in a variety of oedemas, such as nephrogenic oedema and cardiogenic oedema. In addition to being depressed, nephrogenic oedema is also mobile, soft and occurs in areas of loose tissue such as the eyelids and face.
