Can breast cancer be detected by ultrasound?

Breast cancer can be detected by ultrasound, which can be used as a routine physical examination for breast tumors. Ultrasound is more sensitive to the masses inside the breast, including solid nodules, cystic nodules, and masses formed by breast enlargement. If a patient has a solid nodule in the breast, ultrasound can detect the location of the nodule, as well as determine the echogenicity, borders, aspect ratio, and whether there are abnormal blood flow signals. Ultrasound can also grade the nodule, and if it is above grade 4, it is more likely to be malignant. Patients are advised to have punctures and regular follow-ups, and also to have pathological examinations after removal of the nodules inside the breast.
