After surgery for epiglottic cysts, some patients will experience recurrence of the disease, but the chances of recurrence are relatively low. At present, the main surgical option is supported laryngoscopic excision of the epiglottis cyst, through which the cyst can be completely removed. After surgery, it is recommended that regular review at the ENT clinic is needed to review the laryngoscope and observe the recovery of the operated area of the epiglottis. Generally speaking, most patients have good results after surgery and usually do not suffer from surgical sequelae, but a small percentage of patients experience recurrence of the cystic condition after surgery. If the recurrence is mild and the cyst is small, you can choose to have a regular follow-up. If the cyst is large, a repeat surgery is required.
