How to prevent foreign bodies in children’s airways?

Foreign bodies in the trachea and bronchus are common pediatric emergencies, and we often see numerous and strange cases of foreign bodies in pediatric emergency departments. Some time ago, a 6-month-old child was transferred to a lower hospital. After the parents gave pork bone porridge, he developed choking cough, dyspnea and loss of voice, and his condition worsened rapidly and he developed respiratory failure. I don’t know how the scar tissue will proliferate during the recovery process, and whether the sequelae of subglottic tracheal stenosis will fall in the future. This is a completely preventable disease, yet similar tragedies can be seen constantly in pediatric emergency departments. As for the prevention of this disease, parents should learn about it from the birth of their children and constantly educate their relatives and friends around them; children under 3 years old whose molars have not yet erupted should not be given peanuts, melons, beans and foods with cores (except not actively, and should not even be present where the child can obtain them); children should not run and jump when eating, and should not frighten, tease or scold them; do not make a habit of children to hold small toys (pen caps, whistles, glass balls, etc.) in their mouths; do not use any objects that children may inhale or swallow as toys. Do a good job of prevention, so that the foreign body away from children, some things in this world is better to see than to miss!
